Company History

 

 

 

1968 


The company is founded under the name Wayne L. McGee Company.

1988 


Laurentide purchases Atlantic Controls, which was the Fisher representative in the Maritimes.

1992 


Laurentide/Atlantic launches an internal quality process under the name of Total Customer Commitment.

1999 

Laurentide/Atlantic Controls and Rosemount Instruments Limited are integrated including pressure, temperature, level and flow instrumentation, Micro-Motion and Rosemount Analytical.

2001


Fisher-Rosemount is re-branded as Emerson Process Management.

Laurentide/Atlantic becomes the local representative for CSI, consultants for maintenance management & manufacturers of vibration monitoring, thermography & oil analysis equipment.

2002 


Proaxion a local provider of vibration and maintenance services is acquired.

2003


Laurentide Controls opens an office in Chicoutimi. Emerson Instrument & Valve Services opens a branch in the same facility.

2006 


Laurentide/Atlantic Controls is the proud recipient of the 2006 Top 100 employers award, as featured in Maclean's magazine, Canwest's Top 6 employers in Montreal award and is one of "The 20 Best Small Companies to Work for in Canada."

Laurentide/Atlantic Controls continues to grow, now employing 120 employees.

2007


Laurentide/Atlantic Controls expands its Kirkland facility to over 40,000 square feet.

Emerson Instrument & Valve Services relocates to Laurentide's facility.

Laurentide/Atlantic opens an office in St. John's, Newfoundland.

Laurentide Controls is the proud recipient of the 2007 Top 100 employers award, as featured in Maclean's magazine, and Canwest's Top 6 employers in Montreal award.

2008 


Laurentide/Atlantic Controls becomes the distributor for : Velan, FluoroSeal, ABZ Valves, VCI, Topworx, Rosemount Gas Analytical.

 

Laurentide/Atlantic Controls expands its Saint John facility to 9000 sq ft including a 2000 sq ft I&VS facility. Laurentide Controls is the proud recipient of the 2008 Top 100 employers award, as featured in Maclean's magazine, and Canwest's Top 6 employers in Montreal award.

2009

Laurentide/Atlantic Controls is the proud recipient of the 2009 Top 100 employers award, as featured in Maclean's magazine, and Canwest's Top 6 employers in Montreal award.
2011

SIE is now a division of Laurentide/Atlantic Controls. Since 1949, SIE has been a manucturer's representative for industrial, commercial, and residential plumbing and heating. The products represented include Apollo Valves, Farris, Heat-Timer, Danfoss and Fulflo. SIE is an A.S.M.E. certified assembler for safety valves for air, steam, liquids and gases.
Laurentide Controls is now the official representative and distributor of UE Systems for Quebec.
2012

SIE relocated its assembly and safety relief valve repair shop to the Laurentide Controls building at: 18000, Trans-Canada Highway, Kirkland, QC, H9J 4A1.
Industriels Valves & Raccords Quémau Inc. (IVRQ), located in Boisbriand, QC, is now a division of Laurentide Controls Ltd. IVRQ has been providing solutions to the industrial and municipal clients in Quebec since 1989. The products represented include Red Valve, Tideflex, Val-Matic, Posi-Flate, Bermad,Schubert & Salzer and Spence.

Laurentide Controls' Montreal laboratory is accredited ISO 17025 by the Standards Council of Canada and the National Research Council of Canada.
2013

Laurentide Controls Ltd. is now an official distributor for Chemline Plastics. Chemline Plastics is the market leader in Canada for thermoplastic valves & fittings.
2015

Atlantic Controls opens a new 10,000 square foot facility to better serve the Newfoundland & Labrador region.
